Retirement in the Mix: Resisting "Gone"

Retirement is a maze of options. You can retire to leisure and recreation, to volunteer work or activism, to a life of travel, to activities of family and home. You can slip quietly from the scene or resist the vanishing point. I chose to retire to the messy mix of life, resisting being "gone" before I'm gone.

My contented farewell to my career in college teaching (psychology) gave me the freedom to do a whole mix of things, all of which come together in this complicated experience called retirement. This blog is my opportunity to talk about all these things, to keep a voice as I age, to resist being "gone." Please feel free to join the conversation.
